No shit! Jeeezzzz! Ok, so we turn it into an opportunity, and have the cab driver stop at K-Mart on the way to Redhook and load up on Rum! :D

Now another question... those jitney busses that are $1 wherever you want to go... do they run between CA and Red Hook?

Man, I wouldn't be liking that very much. I always use the CA ferry, rain or shine. Sorry to all the STT fans here, but I get off that plane, I want off of STT ASAP!

Anyone know if the new Ferry Terminal at Red Hook is open yet? That might help some.

That's really inconvenient, not just for those of us arriving and heading straight to St. John, but what about the cruise ship folks that might want to spend a day on St. John? Going all the way over to Red Hook will stink for them--it cuts a lot of time out of what must already be an abbreviated day.

Hopefully it will be a deterrent

This is only my assumption! but there may be other arrangements made for the cruise ship people. I know in the past the two ferry companies that make the downtown run have used that ferry for transporting passengers off the ships in addition to the downtown schedule.

Just got back yesterday. Even though RH was the only option from STJ, the boat was still maybe 75% full. No problems. We left on the 10am ferry. I didn't notice a new ferry dock when we arrived at RH, but that was the first time I had ever been there (RH). Nothing looked too new to me. Not sure whether 10am on Friday is indicative of regular departures/arrivals, but that was my experience.

Any updates on this? I read somewhere else (TTOL) that it was up and running today - anyone know if this is true?

I hate to be redundant, but any updates on the ferry?
