Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but reading the thread about Caribbean Villas I thought I should revisit this since someone mentioned that they thought that more businesses should defend themselves on the forum. I just wanted to give you all an update.

The poster mrswright, is indeed the owner of Cactus on the Blue. While I was away on vacation she sent me a private message. Without sharing the exact details of the message, she apologized for the mix up and invited my family to come back for dinner on them to try and gain our respect back. I respectfully declined (because I don't think that I could get anyone in the party to agree to go there after what happened) and wished her luck in getting things in order and making the place a success. She tried, unsuccessfully, to figure out which employee took my reservation, and has high hopes for the coming season. Just wanted to let you all know that she made an effort.

That's a good sign....at least you know they care. Owning any business is just very tough. I can't imagine the troubles a restaurant on St. John might have.

That's the thing though - when you have choices a single bad experience is enough to make you never want to try it again.

I wish them continued luck.

I think what "mrswright" did was kind of sneaky. When posting here, why didn't she identify herself as the owner? Here is what she posted on this thread:

"Cactus on the Blue is open 6 days a week and throughout low season is closed Mondays. For being a new restaurant in town they had a great first season with rave reviews and much support from the community. They will certainly be around for many more seasons to come!"

She tried to create the impression that she was a disinterested party who loved the restaurant. ("they" had a great first season..."they" will certainly be around....)

Not cool.

I agree with you 100%. She should have identified herself

The irony to me is, when I read mrswirght"s post, my first thought was "she must be an owner or manager." Of course, then I read stjohnjulie's post after that.
How many more days?

Mrs. Wright was Mrs. Wrong in her post. I did think she had more than a passing interest. She should have been more honest.
