Thanks, Ruth! jeez, I am sorry I missed this post. I must send four or five emails a year to people who want info on STJ. Mine are sadly lacking in info, compared to this..

What a great write-up. Thank you Rick, if you are reading...

Ditto Colleen- Welcome to the forum fellow Texan(s) (and former lurker(s)!

And thanks Ruth for the link. Although not a new visitor, always great info, especially for passing on to those select few that I think would "get it".

See you guys on island in less than a week (!!!!!) :D

This is Rick's guide for bringing a group. I think this is also helpful.

Again, thank you all for the kind words and welcomes.

Lindy, my first look at Kaleidoscope came the day I got back from my last trip in May. I saw the ad on On-StJohn and immediately told my wife that was our next villa. That was also the day I discovered that the only way to get over the post-St. John funk was to immediately start planning the next trip, no matter how far out it seems. So...I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures and offer up all the juicy details!

jb - Last time we were on St John (last November) we could see Kaleidoscope and the beach on Ditliff from the villa we were renting on Gift Hill. We tried to get closer but the gate to the development was closed so we couldn't get in. We wound up going to Klein Bay beach and I swam down to take a closer look. There were still LOTS of construction work going on but it looked incredible! There was some pretty awesome snorkeling just north of the villa along the shoreline. I never made it out to the end of the point because I was swimming alone and didn't think I should try it without a swim buddy and didn't want to leave the rest of my group waiting for me to do another marathon snorkle. If we can't find a way to get access again this Nov. you'll have to let me know how it is!
