A bit of thanks

Post by pipanale »

Because it's always about me.

Thank you to anyone who sent good juju waves out into the skies yesterday as the Travelling Stanleys had a fairly typical travel day.

We got to the house at about 11:45 last night. Crossing over from sTT late at night was odd. But, it was also very cool. The lights kept getting closer and closer and we all knew we were nearing the end of the journey.

We ended up using Christopher Taxi and then they zipped us over on a private water taxi. The guys chose to run us over rather than do what they were really supposed to do; wait for Westin people. We thanked themvery much.

No Spice Cam for us...it was late and we got dropped at the NPS dock. Hauling the luggage across town at 11:30 was fun!

Would I have preferred to have been here at 2? Yes.

Did we make it? Yes.

Will I be holding court tonight at the Forum gathering and regaling everyone with yet another insane travel tale? Yup.

You guys are good people. I was thisclose to bagging the whole week when we went back home at 8:00 yesterday morning. I was just that worn down. A week in Emerald Isle looked really good at that point. But, I got good advice on the taxis. I'm happy we are not waking up on St Thomas this morning.

I sincerely thank everyone who followed our adventure and said little prayers to the Travel Gods.

Now..it's St John time!

Pip,

Glad you made it and it looks like the sun came
out for you. Now I know what to do if that ever
happens to us. Have fun.

Travel days are pretty much a loss...no matter how short or long they are. Chalk yours up as a slightly bigger loss and let the vacation begin...enjoy, relax and have a super time! Ali~

So glad it worked out for you. I can relate, we are 6 days away from vacation and last week I was an inch away from cancelling the whole thing. Five more sleeps!!!
