Trip Report - July 6-13 - Villa Amora (Part 3)

Post by lovethebeach »

We decided to bring a cooler down with frozen foods. I had purchased a new polar bear cooler, and I really liked it. It zipped right up and I didn't have to worry about taping it with duct tape in case the snap came open. It was a little heavy (48 lbs) to carry. I liked it also because it only weighs 4 lbs empty and I was able to put it my big checked bag coming home, so that way I only had to pay baggage fees one way. We packed steaks, lunch meat, bacon, chicken breasts, cheeses, condiments, and milk. The meats were still frozen when we arrived 12 hours later from the time we left our door here in St. Louis. We also had a washer and dryer. The last day four of us washed all of our clothes because we were spending one more week in the BVIs. This was our sixth trip to St. John and although I missed not walking down to Maho Beach from the campground, I really enjoyed all the luxuries of the villa. We usually go to St. John every other year so we probably won't be back until 2012.

Your trip sounds great. I always love having the cooler packed with or favorite foods; a washer and dryer; a pool; ocean view; and within walking distance to all of the action. It sounds great.
