Best steak on STJ?

Post by Agent99 »

We let our hair down on vacation a little bit when it comes to healthy eating. Being the committed carnivores we are all 4 of us love a good steak. Other than your own talents back at the villa have any of you a favorite place to get a great steak?

DH is a big fan of the Blue Cheese Stuffed Filet at the Lime Inn.

If vacation keeps you closer to home, try the NY Strip at Big Papi's Grille :=

Papi burns it on purpose so I do the grilling! That's why I want to dine out.

Shipwreck Landing won top honors for best steak on STJ in a recent "Best of" contest.

My personal favorite steak dinner was at the Equator at Caneel when we were there in May. It was melt in your mouth good. Shipwreck Landing ranked 2nd on my list.

I hear the new steak house restaurant at the Westin is very good but I haven't been myself. I have not had the steak at la Plancha del Mar but I understand it's also very very good.

My best steak ever on STJ was at Turtle Bay at Caneel - soooooo good :) We also had a really fantastic steak at Rhumblines which was a surprise as I don't think of them as a "steak" restuarant.

We have had outstanding steaks at Waterfront Bistro and now Caneel Bay has opened a new steak place at the Turtle Bay Estate House. The Westin has also opened Cruz Bay Prime. I am looking forward to trying both these spots. Let Everyone know what you decide and how you liked it.

The garlic ribeye at Banana Deck is AMAZING!

I'm definitely not a fan of the steak at Shipwreck Landing; they put a funky sauce on it and I'm a meat purist.

If you like prime rib, the Lime Inn does a pretty good one on Friday or Saturday nights (the night has changed over the past couple years, you could call or stop by and ask). And if Maho is still doing it, we had the best prime rib we've ever had on island there in November.

Yep, looks like Maho is still doing it:

We all got the steak at Rumblines in May and all 5 of us LOVED it. Best meal I've ever had.
