Eating out for 5 nights
Hi XIG - I love your statement "Since I can not, not plan...". It made me LOL since I am so much like that. I love to plan, although we may (and often do) choose not to follow the plan when we get there.
We always visit Sogos in Cruz Bay at least twice. The ambiance is not like other places - its just a small, simple little place on a side street. However, their West Indian food is excellent and not as pricey as some places. We always get the curried goat (hubby eats this - not me!) and the Shrimp Creole (might not be the right name, its Shrimp in a nicely flavored sauce with peppers and onions). The meals come with multiple delicious side dishes. When we stay on Gifft Hill, we like to pick up dinner and eat at our villa since we have a wonderful view from our deck.
Shipwreck is our other favorite for food and setting.

You need to vary this up.
Thai food @ rhumb lines (dont' do the thai at banana deck)
Grilled food (tuna or beef or chicken) @ banana deck
Fried chicken fingers @ woody's
bbq ribs at the corner by customs office (across from cap's place)
quesadillas at banana deck
bbq pulled pork @ sun dog
anything @ waterfront bistro

Shela's Pot isn't open for dinner...usually noon-ish until around five-ish.
I will throw in another vote for the Dog House at Crazy Cracker's. I've only been once, but the food was great and the prices are about as low as it goes on St. John.
La Plancha del Mar, second level of the Marketplace is a great place as well. They have happy hour Monday through Friday from 5-7pm with $5 apps and $2 beers and sangria. They are starting brunch on Sat. July 10th from 8:30am until 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

I discovered Sheila's Pot in April. What a treat! For $25, I got enough lobster and 6 sides to last two days. You know when the locals are lining up, it must be good. I can't wait to go back.

All the suggestions sounds great..My favorite is Lime Inn. But Question Where is Shelias Pot and Sweet Plantains?

The 2 "always" restaurants on my plans are always 
La Tapa & Waterfront Bistro. Ok, I must admit there's always a few more, so let's make that my 5 for 5 nights (not in any particular order) would be:
La Tapa
Waterfront Bistro
Candi's BBQ (especially her fresh fish if she has it)
Lime Inn
(lastly, depending on the budget, either Ronnie's white pizza with artichokes & sausage OR ZoZo's--you see why I said 'depending on the budget!')
