Eating out for 5 nights

Post by Xislandgirl »

Since I can not, not plan, I wanted to start thinking about restaurants. We will be eating breakfast in and hitting up Skinny Legs and Tourist Trap for lunch in addition to beach sandwiches and we plan on eating out every night.
We will most likely skip Zozo's as we are trying to keep out budget low on this trip.
Rhumblines is my only must do.

If you had 5 nights, what would you pick?

X...I would hit Cafe Roma for sure...that's good for 2 meals. I never saw such huge portions! And then I agree with Mary Beth, Uncle Joe's or Candi's would be great. I also agree with you that Rhumb Lines is a must. So amny choices....so little time...oh my.... :D

Shipwreck Landing is always a 'most do' for us. La Plancha del Mar never disappoints.

Beach Bar
Cafe Roma - apps/split a dinner
Lime Inn
Beach Bar (I need Tuna Down Now at least twice)
Cafe Roma - pizza at the bar or individuals at a table

If you want to do a take back to the villa, so many forumites rave about Sheila's Pot. I haven't tried her yet.

Is Sheila around for dinner hours? Somehow I thought not but maybe I'm wrong. You could always get it at lunch time and eat it later if she closes early.

In no particular order:

Shipwreck Landing
Aqua Bistro
Cafe Roma
Banana Deck
Island Blues-I know many don't think so for dinner, but it has been so relaxing when we've been that we love it.

Love all of the above and I'm glad you mentioned Island Blues Nic. We usually aren't on that end of the island for dinner but really enjoy Island Blues for a late lunch after the beach. It's such a breezy spot that in the winter months a light sweater feels good after the hot sun. I imagine this time of year that breeze is even more welcome. For the past few years they've always had a really fabulous soup on the menu and their blackened shrimp app is great also.

Can't think about that side of the island without dreaming of the cool and breezy vibe of Shipwreck Landing also. Pat makes great gazpacho, cool and crunchy and the curried grouper is delish as well. Love when they have the stuffed crabs on the special list.

That's always our dilemma -, we find the breakfast in Cruz Bay and lunches in Coral Bay (Shipwreck and Tourist Trap!!) are great, but dinner can be challenging... With that said, Lime Inn, Banana Deck, Beach Bar and Morgans are most likely places where we will eat this trip...

We were just there and ate out, so this is very fresh on my mind. Here's where we ate.

Jj's Texas Cafe- (have always seen it, but never stopped there)
Banana Deck
Lime Inn
Cafe Roma
Cruz Bay Pizza- right around the wall from Beach Bar- really good! We had drinks at the BB while we waited on the pizza( Carry out only) Cruz Bay Pizza 340-775-5200
Here's a toast to you on the coast....
