Carnival questions

Post by bill »

We will be arriving on the 5th! we picked the 5th because we thought carnival would be over, but found out this year it is celebrated on the 5th and not the 4th because the 4th falls on a Sunday. What can we expect Cruz Bay to be like? Will the restaurants and shops be open? Will the deli at Mongoose be open? We won't have a car until the next day because all the car rentals will be closed. We are looking forward to the carnival, as this is something new for us on St. John. Can't wait to see the fireworks over Cruz Bay!!!!

Thanks!

It will be very very busy. Parade day is the busiest Cruz Bay gets. It will be packed with people. Some shops will close, but most will be open. The ferries will also be very busy. They will likely run more than the scheduled every hour on the hour. If they fill up, they make a run.

Since you will make it for the last day, make sure you go to the Village and try some of the food. Some of the best local food you can get! It will be very busy at night as well. It is a great time! Safe travels!!!!
