... no longer a stranger to paradise
Wouldn't it be great if we could reach $5,000 by July 4th?! But hey, you guys have already given so much. And I am sure the shelter is delighted. You know they do so much for the island. Our island.
I have a sad story to tell. But with a happy ending. I went this morning to take "Bobbie" to have his teeth cleaned, and one extracted. Now Bobbie is totally Jorge's cat. He is a black and white. And yes, very overweight. Jorge has not been allowed to feed him lately. Doctor's orders! The rest of the story is that I go to the clinic to drop off Bobbie, and in comes this nice woman with a cat carrier. I start hearing these tiny meoos. Not meows, cuz these are little things. I look over and see these two tiny little scruffy, skinny little kitties that are just pitiful! The woman starts telling her story. She was walking down the road in the next town over and she sees these two little heads in the grass. And there is momma cat, lying in the road, hit by a car, poor thing dead. So she scoops up the kitties and brings them to my clinic because they are the only ones around that would agree to take the little ones. I love her! And I love that clinic. And I love all of y'all for being so kind and contributing to the ACC. This is why we do it. For the poor things that can't help it. We should rename the Animal Care Center to the "We Care Center." Or even the "John Cared Center." Thank you for being so generous. We CAN make a difference. And we can do it in honor of John.
