Last minute discounts??
Last minute discounts??
For those who travel this way, what kind of discounts do you get when booking a week or 2 before arrival? What agencies have you had success with? Are they willing to negotiate to fill the villa?

We got a great discount with Ultimate Villas (http://www.stjohnultimatevillas.com/). We dealt with Kristen there, booking on a Wednesday, and flying in that Saturday! It was our first trip staying on the island. They made it easy, not even worrying about the paperwork or payment ahead of time (since time was so short). And it wasn't even like I had to do all this haggling to get a great deal!
Our trip was 2 weeks (which we just came back from - wishing we were still there), and we had a better time than we would have, had we not talked to Kristen!
Good luck!

I've gotten everything from being told "no" to 40% off. I think it depends on how competitively priced the villa is to begin with. It's not worth opening the house if there's no profit to be made after utility, cleaning, and management expenses.
I think most (though not all) agencies are willing to entertain the thought of extending some sort of last minute discount. It does not hurt to ask, and you are not going to offend anyone by bringing it up.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
