I just returned home from an 8 day stay on STJ. I used Rachel for my transportation to and from Red Hook. As many of you know, her brother is gravely ill and the prognosis is not good. He is currently in Miami staying with other family members while being treated. When she picked us up yesterday, I asked how her how her brother was and she broke down. Evidently, he was rushed to the emergency room and she was awaiting word. It broke my heart to see her so distraught. Perhaps we all should keep her and her brother in our thoughts and prayers.
I spoke with Rachel this morning to arrange transport to the airport, since we leave tomorrow. She said she would have one of her associates pick us up since she was going to be with her brother.
I know I am keeping her in my thoughts.

I would much rather die while I am living, than live while I am dead!
Our prayers are definitely with her. We were scheduled to use her taxi for the first time this Sunday and meet this lady that everyone loves so much. Calling her to confirm is out of the question, and we will just have faith that one of her associates will be there waiting...and if not....regular cab will work!
Prayers for sweet Rachel and her brother and family. I, too, thank you for the info, timethief, as she was scheduled to pick us up Sunday as well. It is a sad time for Rachel and I am glad she is with him.
So sorry for that sweet woman! We are scheduled with her on Saturday and I have every confidence she has found someone to step in. I am sure she has very many friends in STT that are happy to help her in her time of need. God Bless her and keep her safe!
When she picked us up on Tues she said she was headed to Miami to be with her brother and to call her for our trip home. If she isnt able to do it, her associate Marvin would be available to transport us. She is a woman of great faith and I admire her strength. Im praying for her and her brother. What a dear person she is!!
Rachel's brother did pass away. Not sure if it was yesterday or today. She called me today while we were in Atlanta to let us know she has arranged for a friend to pick us up. Then when we arrived she had arranged for him to call her and let her know he had picked us up. She even insisted that he pass the phone to me to welcome us and make sure everything was OK. This was our first time to use Rachel but it wont be the last.
