Newbie trip report Part seven
Newbie trip report Part seven
We got up early to get ready for our sailing trip. We had to meet in Skinny Legs parking lot at 9:15. We were a little sunburnt from yesterday so we bought some t-shirts and a hat from a little shop there. We were going out on the Long Distance with Rick and Robin Gallop. I can't say enough good things about them. Another couple from the forum went on the sail too. John and Karen were already on the boat. We met Rick near the dock and he took us by dinghy to his sailboat. I didn't have any problem getting up into the boat. Time to set sail. It was a beautiful day for sailing. Fairly calm waters. We went to our first snorkel spot. We wrapped my arm and we were ready. Rick and Robin made sure to make me as comfortable as I could be. They gave me an extra float for my arm and a noodle and we were off. Robin snorkels with you and identifies what you are seeing. We saw lots of coral and some different types of fish. It was a nice snorkel. While we were snorkeling,Rick was making us a nice lunch. We ate lunch and began to sail to our next snorkel spot. We could of went to Flannigans island or a spot near the east end close to Vie's where we were yesterday. They chose to go to the one close to Vie's because of the current around the island. They really went out of their way to make sure I would be able to snorkel. This was a great place to snorkel. We saw a couple of nurse sharks and alot of beautiful coral. Lots of different fish. Very nice. We headed back to Coral Bay. Great day. We went back to the cottage and just ate in this evening. It was an early night.
