That is awesome Flip flop! I feel the same way...lots of work beforehand and it seems like it would be so gross...but I find it liberating to be outdoors and not worrying about housework or anything. Just fresh air and enjoying good company of friends.

Flip - didn't you roast in the heat?

We were in the PA mountains and by Sunday night, I thought I would melt. I don't think I slept more than an hour at a time and that was with fans going full speed. I spent the better part of Monday sitting in the creek with a beer in hand. Best part of the weekend actually.

I was actually chilly at night. Sunday was pretty hot so breaking down and packing up was less than fun. We got a little rain Friday night, Saturday and Saturday night were PERFECT.

This pretty much sums it up...
...a sleeping boy and 4 coolers!
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

Flip,
Love the picture of the little guy. It looks like he'd been hitting those Pringles pretty hard

The little one looks adorable. Yep, sleeping kid and 4 coolers, good times! Campfire coffee is the bomb - freshly percolated (beware of grounds), I do love it! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

When my daughter was growing up, vacations were very rare, mostly it was camping. We all loved it and it's great family time and nice adult time at the fire after kids are sleeping (favorite cocktail - blue koolaid with Vodka). Just on the verge of selling our tent and giving up camping, along come the grandkids. If I skip St John for a few years, I could afford a camper. Should I? Awww, I guess I could sleep on the ground a few more years, it won't kill me, right?
