I had a god reason: Miles
I had a god reason: Miles...
I am so sorry I missed the BB meet.
At around 2:45 Larry came home and came into my office and said "Did you know Miles is outside?" Well I did not know. Turns out Miles had gone outside adn I didn't hear him. I have no idea how long he was out there, but he had fallen in the driveway and was dangerously overheated. Larry found him when he came home.
Larry and three friends who work at Concordia carried Miles into the house. Following an emergency call to vet Dr. Laura, 45 minutes of keeping ice packs under his front underarms & on his stomach while feeding ice chips to him and rubbing his ears with ice and he finally stopped panting.
It was terrible, but he is fine now. I really am sorry I missed y'all. -c

Thank you, Miles is fine today. I know Miles has a lot
of fans online and I know they worry about my old mutt,
and I'm really touched.
I forgot to mention that cooling his big floppy ears
is key to lowering his body temperature. To do this I
laid his ear over a can of cold Budweiser. It was a very
convenient way to cool the entire surface of
his ear while leaving my hands free to feed him ice &
hold the icepack on his stomach. Budweiser to the
rescue!
