Update on Baby Shannon
Some of you may recall my Great Neice Shannon. She is already 2 years old and still not able to eat by mouth.
She was operated on yesterday at Dupont Hospital and doing great. She has to learn to eat, well, because she never has. She has always had a feed through her stomach and she has not been thriving.
She's doing very well. Can't say that for her Mom though.
Kathy, her Mom was in the hospital with Shannon on Monday for the usual work up before surgery. As they were taking blood from Shannon, Kathy faited and hit her head on the floor. Because Dupont does not treat anyone over the age of 18, Kathy's husband had to drive down from Philly, get Kathy and take her to Christiana where she received 12 stitches to the back of her head.
I wanted to thank everyone for their prayers. Please, keep them coming so Shannon continues to progress.
I really apprecite it!

Life is strange,,,,but most things are meant to be. Grandchild #8 was 2lbs, 4ozs...he was litterally the size of a US one dollar bill. (he is 4 1/2 now & was promoted to kindergarden) in Jan.. Autisum & all. Life throws us big curves & we get thru them..... baby & Mom WILL get thru this for the better.
Shannon is home now, thank God. She's able to keep regular formula down now, although she's still on a feeding tube. Her biggest problem is phlem that chokes her really bad, and it's scarey when that happens.
They believe that her stomach is still swollen from the surgery. I'm going to go over and see her tomorrow.
Just keep the prayers going for us.
Thank you!

We truly feel for you!! Our "tiny grandson William Donavon Littlefield, was (2lbs.4oz). He was truly the size of a dollar bill. He also had a feeding tube and expose to "MRSA"(in hospital)...briefly.Tufts had them do "skin-to-skin", a process done in other countries. (They did test on Shannon(who miscarried...2ice before)...it was the most scary time ever. But, you know, LIFE IS GOOD!!!
My daughter, Shannon, was tested the day she was leaving,(after 1 & 1/2 wks), by request, for a "NEW blood disorders",cause her BP was off the charts.Every week from Tufts, she pumped 4 times a day & we drove it to Tufts in Boston(from NH) every day.. After the feeding tube, he was fed from "previously frozen breast milk"(from Shannon). Breast feeding didn't work it self, formula is very good too!!! He was released BEFORE he was 40 weeks!!!
The phlem, chocking sounds are sooo bad. He got over that, as the docs said he would. But(when she wants another baby, it's shots in the tummy every day til birth). Shannon will be fine, it's the grand-parents that have to survive the ordeal with our children. Our best to all of you!! Love & hugs to all...
