St. John private boat charter -- also other smaller islands

Post by Cruzan »

Aside from Lion in Da' Sun, can anyone tell me of a good charter (boat) company pls? We're looking for them taking us to uncrowded beaches and sites.

Also, if you've visited the Thatches, or know of other remote islands w/beautiful beaches in the area, pls share.

Thanks!!!

Captain Phil (wayward sailor) and Captain John Brandi are very popular options for most folks on this forum.

I actually chartered with Phil, but only partied with Brandi. Both are stand up guys with great operations.

I've also done a day trip with the Stormy Petel/Pirates Penny outfit and can recommend them.

You didn't mention the number of folks in your party.
My vote is www.motoryachtcinnamonbay.com .
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderfil.
Capt. Dan & his wife Donna are as easy going as they are professional.
Great folks, gorgeous vessel.
Hope to see them again in April.
Not sure why they aren't better known on the forum...

I can second the recommendation for Stormy Petel/Pirates Penny. We used Trevor at http://www.bestofusvi.com for our arrangements.

Oh and as for other islands... alot depends on how far you are able to go. Sandy Spit is fun for funs sake.

I don't know much about Little Thatch or Great Thatch but I can attest that Cooper Island and its beach club are worth a visit. There are several in that island chain in the BVI's: Ginger, Cooper, Salt, Peter and Norman.

Off the coast of Norman is the Willy T. A good lunch spot with great Roti's. Can be quiet or rowdy depending on the crowd.

A day on the water going nowhere fast is also a lot of fun!

There will be 2 of us. I've emailed the folks you guys have listed here to see if they do what we're looking for. Thanks so much for the input. And, we're once again looking forward to our trip to the beautiful Virgins! Up, up and away!
