AA flight schedule changes

Post by tipsy »

For all those who are making connections at JFK to fly on AA. Was just announced yesterday, that due to the main runway being shut down & the delays being caused by this. AA has decided to cancel many flights at JFK to avoid long delays for their passengers.

So,check your flt schedules or with TA and make sure your flight isn't one. And also if making connections at another airport further south, should check to see what happens if flt is delayed up here...

Good luck.
No ticker anymore. Next vac will prob. be the Fl Keys.

Even though it is a specific event causing this folks should REGULARLY check their airline schedules when flying to the VI's.

Over the years we have found that ALL of the airlines tend to play fast and loose with scheduling and will often make changes (Sometimes MAJOR ones) without proper notification to passengers (even if you're signed up to recieve such changes by e-mail).

Sometimes the changes are minor (like a 15 minute adjustment to departure or arrival times) sometimes they are MAJOR (changing your departure or arrival to a completely different DAY).

This can be very frustrating especially if you choose one airline over another not based on price but schedule.

The good news is that when such DRASTIC changes are made you may have the option to rebook with the airline on another flight that more closely matches your original schedule at no cost to you. Bad news is you really have to stay on top of it.

Just checked my May flight and had to change my flight home from St. Thomas because they had changed my ATL-RDU flight and left me 30 minutes between flights with a terminal change. AARRGGHHH....

Thx

This is the third time they had made changes to this itinerary. The others weren't so bad...10 minutes this way or that way...bigger plane, etc...

I usually check multiple times because when they change flight numbers, plane size, etc... my seats get reassigned. I cannot sit in the middle seat. I check my seat assignments repeatedly.

sorry to hear about your travel changes, John. Gotta love the airlines and it's getting worse instead of better..

Last yr, our 3 young granddaughters were coming up for a visit, unaccompanied. My SIL was @ 1/2 from airport (was a 3hr drive for them) and I got a call that the flt had been cancelled, no reason, and they were re-booked for next day. Had to put them up in hotel by airport, western union some $ for meals, sil just had what needed to make trip & gas money on him. And Continental claimed it was weather in NY, well we live in NY and weather was fine here? They didn't have enough passengers to make it worthwhile to fly is the real reason.

We've had out flts to/from STT changed already, but very minor. I too keep checking every week.
