Anyone been to Belize?

Has anyone been to Belize & how does the snorkeling compare to St. John? Is there snorkeling off shore? We love St. John & I am not sure I can give up going this year but we have heard that Belize is a good place for snorkeling.

I have been to Belize - I would not recommend staying on Belize itself. There are SO many beautiful little cays and islands offshore. The snorkeling was great - the water is beautiful! But I'm still sold on St. John. I think I would go back - we were there for a company deal stayed in the Placencia area. The roads are very primitive still - mostly dirt. Absolutely amazingly beautiful water. I think you won't be disappointed!
