School supplies

Post by StJohnRuth »

Many people have inquired about bringing school supplies for the teachers on St. John. I have asked around a little, and this is what I have been told they could use:

- Basics such as pencils
- Dry erase markers
- Watercolor sets
- "New" erasable crayolas
- Kid-safe scissors

If I hear of any other items, I will keep you posted.

Ruth,
We'll be down in March. Can we drop the supplies off with you or is there another place to take them?

Ruth, does the Animal Shelter need anything that they can't get there?

You can leave them with me if you'd like. I just email the teacher and she comes and picks things up and distributes them around. (Sometimes she comes with students, so it's quite fun.)

Oh, I like how you think... We're coming down in a few weeks and I guess Ruth and Ron will be babysitting an 11 year old too. Thanks so much!

If you want to mail them, here's the address where you can send the school supplies:

St. John Spice/School Supplies
PO Box 1693
St. John, VI 00831-1693

Many thanks, once again, Ruth!

Is the address for the school supplies the same one we mail our kids to (to Ruth?)

Ruth,
We're bringing a few things down there with us in a couple of weeks. You can watch my daughters too, but you'll probably have to go down to the Beach Bar to do it, as I'm pretty sure that's where they'll be putting back a few colds ones. That would be more fun for you anyway...right?

Maybe daughter #1 will donate her pencil collection from elementary school if she still has it. I think she used to buy a new pencil every other day just to see what kind she would get from the little pencil machine at school  We once had a box full of brand new pretty pencils. I'm quite sure she doesn't need it anymore...it's been a long time since she was 10 yrs old.

Wow Ruth it sounds like you'll be busy with all those kids! Maybe it's time to invent a game like "chase away the chickens".
