So for those of you keeping track. The cops on trial were both convicted today. All counts except for the money laundry.

Alex, the answer for $5000 is greed.

The $5,000 Question

n his closing arguments, it was John-Baptiste who finally asked the question that many observers tossed around during breaks and outside the courtroom this week and weighed heavily at day’s end Friday.

here is no evidence that Capt. Saldana got any cent of any money,” he had earlier said. “Why take away 22 years in the police force and give it away for $5,000?”

aldana left the courtroom Friday as quiet and expressionless as he had been every single day of both trials.

ven after two juries, eight days of testimony and many good minds put to the task, the question still remained Friday ---- why?
