Great things from forum!

Post by LandLockedBeachLover »

So I was in the VI's for my 40th birthday this past August, and if you recall from one of the installments from "Rum Makes You Dumb" trip reports, I was lamenting the fact that I did not purchase a really cool STJ hook bracelet I had seen in Cruz Bay (see link to report below - - I think I did it right).

At any rate, I LOVE THIS FORUM :D ! I happened to STILL be thinking of this hook bracelet months later, and since I couldn't think of the name of the store, I checked back on the message post to see if anyone could remember. What do you know, Shae, formerly of Shae Designs, had a post saying "YES, it was from my store, and here's my phone number" 8) . Now the store name is Bamboo Studios, and they still have the hand-hammered silver hook bracelet with gold braiding and "J" hook for St. John! I ordered it from Shae (very nice lady), and here it is! Sorry for bad picture quality, it is from my blackberry camera  .

Sooooo happy! Hubs has his Valentine's Gift all taken care of now! Again, I LOVE THIS FORUM! :D

So, the question. I know we all have made some wonderful friends from the forum, but other than that, what have YOU gained from the forum? I can now look down to my wrist and think of my wonderful VI's and wonderful family of forum friends every day! Woo hoo!

can't really see the hammering but I love the hammered look. I wanted that from Into the Blue last time I was there but they didn't have it so I settled for the non hammered. Jealous ;)

Wear it in happiness & health.

In answer to your question, besides meeting some really terrific people and making some great friends. This forum has helped us plan our 1st trip to STJ so stress free. Have learned so much & got so many tips that would never have if not for all of the people here.
So much invaluable info from here will make our trip much better than it might have been. And has made the planning that much more exciting.

Have not known such a group of people to be so friendly, kind, caring and willing to go that extra step for complete strangers. It restores faith in people and shows how wonderful this world could be if all took lessons from even a few members from here.

Thank you to Anthony for starting this forum and for all you great members.

STJ soon come for us !!
No ticker anymore. Next vac will prob. be the Fl Keys.

Love the bracelet. I bought a similar one as a gift for the gal who was looking after my Mother last June and now I wish I had gotten one for myself too.
Exactly where is Bamboo Studio? I'll be sure and check it out in May.

Diana2 - Bamboo Studios is in the heart of Cruz Bay in Wharfside Village. The website link is below, apparently they haven't yet updated for the new name. It's a great little store with unique pieces that aren't too pricey!

:D Thanks! I'll look for it in May. Brrrt, it's cold here in Michigan and it's snowing. Only about 3 months to go (the longest months here in the frozen north).

One of the best things that I have gotten from this forum is peace of mind. I used to think I was the only person who could possible obsess over an Isand and how I feel when I am there (or even just looking at photos of it). It is nice to know that there are others out there who get it. Thank you all!
