Swimming on STJ

Post by Tracy in WI »

Planning a trip soon and I am looking to do some swimming - not just snorkeling. Just goggles, no fins.

I do get a bit freaked out in the open water so I was wondering if anyone knows of a group that might head out and swim together. If not, I guess I'll just have to suffer with a rum drink on shore......

Tracy, if your the least bit timid go to Maho. Flat and shallow.

There is a very small group of locals that do a Sunday morning swim and they have said that anyone is welcome to join them. I saw this one of the other sites. If I can find it, I will let you know. Maybe someone else on here knows more about it.

The husband and wife who were our "landlords" on our last visit go for a swim at Francis every morning at 7:00.

I was also going to suggest Francis. I found it great for swimming. Don't think I could make it for a 7am dip though.

Hi Tracy, My wife always swims at Trunk Bay close to the beach and the life guard keeps an eye on her.

Thanks everyone - Those are good tips and even if I do swim, it sounds like I can also do the rum drink from the beach thing! I appreciate all the help!
