Planning a trip to Amsterdam -- Any advice?

and our favorite Coffee House - Dutch Flowers on Spui.
It's a great walking town, definitely take the time to walk about. Have some New Herring from a herring stand. We've been a half dozen times and love. We like to start our beer trips here and hit Koln and Dusseldorf before doing the Belgian loop and then Bavaria.
Oh, and I think you'd have fun at Casa Rosa.

I think we're going to saty in West Amsterdam (not as far as Jordaan) but at a little hotel on the Singel Canal. I think that will give us a nice environment but keep us fairly centrally located.

I think it's so funny how everyone talks about the Coffeehouses. You gotta love the Ducth and their pragmatism: "Either legalize it or build more prisons."
I can assure everyone that our stop in Amsterdam was not driven by the Coffeehouses!! Seriously.
