The ONE thing.

Funny how Vicki started it off as simply as a Beach chair on Maho to it developing into a feeling people get for the place.

The grin I get when I'm there in person or when I'm there in my mind. No other place has touched me like STJ has and I'm so happy that Ive been able to personally share the experience with at least 15 other people who have visited(and some who are also addicted too). To see their smiles makes me grin even wider.

I guess in reality STJ is 'The ONE Thing"

Sharing the perfect place with my kids and turning them into addicts. :D The way my bones feel like they melt and I am a happy puddle of humanity.

What I really like is arriving every year. Walking into out place at Lavender Hills, throwing the bags on the bed and then walking down the street to the Beach Bar. Sit down at the bar and get greeted with hey Mike how have you been?

It is like you never left the island.

Drink  never left.

Great thread Vicki! Yes SWPat I was bawling before I got to the second page!

I asked my husband the question and his reply , "the peaceful look on YOUR face and knowing that STJ makes you so happy- you are a completely different person when we're there"

so … my answer HAS to be the peaceful, calm serenity that fills me. I think the no stress, no worries island attitude along with the fact that my work-aholic husband gives me ALL of his time and more attention than when we're home. I miss him on a daily basis, so no longing for his company when on STJ- I have it!

Lots of great stuff...but I think my favorite was the view from Cinnamon Tarn Villa in Catharinberg...really it was absoloutely awesome to hang out on that balcony and look out across Cinnamon Bay, and the BVIs...

That is funny Mike, when we were on island in Nov my friend said she loved the fact everyone said
Welcome Back or Welcome Home Rosi!! That was the best feeling, just the best.

Sitting in the moonlight caressed by the warm breeze, listening to the tree frogs sing their night songs to the moon and twinkling stars.....an ending to the day that utterly satiates my body and soul.

Picking up a mango banana smoothie from the smoothie stand on the way back to the villa after an early morning at Maho. Don't know if the fruit is fresher or what, but no matter how hard we try, we can't make 'em like that... :)

a full moon with twinkling stars reflecting off the water; incredible views as far as you can see; that feeling of carefreeness, much like a child, that takes over -- that deep sigh of total contentment; feeling so alive and yet so peaceful, filled with much love and happiness. Ali~

(Just curious -- did this thread cause anyone to book an impulsive trip? If so, good for you!!!)

Being an ex sailor in the US Navy who has sailed the world, the beautiful blue water calls me home. I visited the Island in 2002 with my beautiful lady, and we have been back 4 times since then, and planning number 5. PS, the rum is another factor
