New Year's Resolutions

Post by Wakey »

Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.

OK,I'll be first. Mine is to smoke my last cig Sunday night and quit cold turkey next week. I quit for 20 years and started back 3 years ago...stupid! I know I will feel better, have more energy and won't be coughing like a fiend every morning when I get up at 6:00 and go outside on the deck with my coffee and 6:00 am cig. My family gives me hell because no one else smokes. The bottom line is I will feel so much better if I quit, so say prayers for me that I will follow through.

Prayers for you greyhoundmom. I convinced my parents to quit smoking cold turkey when I was 6 and my sister was 8 because we kids pledged to spontaneously vomit anytime they lit up in front of us or in our vicinity. It only took about four occasions, including a horrifyingly permeating car incident, before the children won that particular battle.

May your will be as strong as ours. Good luck.

Hey Grey, I'm in the same boat as you are.

The difference is...I'm not going cold turkey. I just can't do that. Doctor told me to cut down slowly. A pack a day is now 10 a day and then next week it goes down 1 a day, until there 0 per day. So far, I'm doing good. Husband has my cigarettes and I've asked him to keep track.

I give you alot of credit if you're able to do this. Cold Turkey (whatever that means).

I wish you luck with everything you are doing. It's not easy.

I want to make clear that I wish everyone luck with any resolution that improves their life.

This quote made me laugh so I shared it

Back to eating properly starting um...today?

I walk outdoors about 2 hours a day in the nice weather, but it's too too cold for that now. Back to the treadmill for some interval training, which is boring as hell.

If you have a guilty pleasure TV show, make a rule that you can only watch it while on the treadmill. :D

I resolve to be patient while waiting until February when all the Resolutioners decide that going to the gym is just too darned hard.

I'm going to try. but I really don't like them.
