Thank you to modern medicine, medical professionals and pharmaceuticals; which yes, are costly, but save so many priceless lives. Many are underappreciated, until you need them.

(No political comments please. I am just very grateful this year for personal reasons.)

I should add a little addendum to my post. My daughter has had an absolutely horrible (resistant) skin infection that has been really worrisome until yesterday when it finally appears to be responding. She actually is on the cheap medicine, but the whole time through this "ordeal", I was thinking that this infection would have probably killed or disfigured someone living in a 3rd world country with no access to the simplest antibiotics. We are just so lucky to be here and to have access to emergency care.

When I look at my precious child and think about what could have happened if this had gone on much longer, I am just so grateful.

I know this could trigger a political response, but please don't go there; just let me share my thanks to God and please go hug someone you love.

... not sure that people are items; however, I am thankful for every VIOL forum member who interacts here. Because of you, I laugh, learn, and sometimes, even think. Some visit now and then; some are here most times; some spend a time and move on - yet have left a mark.
