New Chef Paradiso

Post by mia »

I was disappointed to read that Ten Tables had closed, since it had been getting some excellent reviews. It seems however that the chef from Ten Tables has moved to Paradiso....so I'm thinking we'll give it a try if it's opened during our September trip.
Another tid- bit....the Italian restaurant which was written up in On St. John will be located in the building which was home to the now closed Infusions.

I think this is great. Paradiso has such a nice space (and air conditioning!), but we were not impressed by the food. Plus, when we got our credit card statement they had somehow charged us four times for the dinner! (in their defense, they rectified it right away once we caught it).

We really enjoyed our meal at 10 Tables (I especially remember a tuna tartare with frozen wasabi ice), so will definitely be checking out the "new" Paradiso under chef Trujillo.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I agree with liamsaunt. I think it’s good news. We enjoyed our meal at Ten Tables and were planning to go back. Now we are more excited because of chef Trujillo’s relocation to Paradiso.
Paradiso has been our sentimental favorite even after we stopped going there. It used to be the place where we spent the last night on the island having a great meal (I have to say I miss that). The place is more spacious than some other restaurants on St. John and has a very nice atmosphere. Frankly, I think since the departure of chef Ted Robinson, Paradiso hasn’t been the same. Hopefully this will be a change for the better. We are looking forward to checking it out this summer.
