New and exciting Contest!

Post by Xislandgirl »

Help me find an avatar! I need a new one and I want something fun. I can not seem to find a site that will let me keep it up for more than a week.

I thought that I was internet savy, but I guess I am not.

The person that finds me the perfect avatar will receive:
1- My gratitude
2- A place in my heart
3- A postcard from STJ

How can you resist? Think of the bragging rights you would have? Think of the sheer delight when that postcard comes in the mail signed by me, personally.

When I created mine I literally googled "How to make an avatar" and was able to find instructions on how to make an avatar out of any graphic image I wanted. Then I went and did a google image search for flip-flops. Found the image I wanted, saved it to my harddrive and then did the avatarizing as instructed by the website I found.

Try this out if you have your own image you want to use: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/

I am SO glad you posted that contest. I am just one nano better at the computer than Regis Philbin. Moments ago I sent an e-mail to my Girls Gone Wild traveling companion asking for help. I want a cute little picture under my forum name like everyone else has. I didn't even know what they were called. No I don't live in a cave. So my next challege besides finding one, is to get it to this site.

I learn so much from you guys!!!

I just changed my avatar to a picture of myself yesterday. I used to have the American flag one, but someone else started using that so I thought I'd switch. I hadn't realized how much I rely on the avatars...but then I kept seeing "my" avatar and I'd think "but I didn't say that" because I was looking at just the avatar and not the new poster's name.

Anyway, now everyone has to look at my mug instead...maybe you could do the same? Or a picture of a child or pet? You just have to have a photo editor to make the image really small.

Way cool! Thanks for the tip on the avatar pictures. Good to be myself too, albeit it's me with "sea hair" :x oh well, that's me at my happiest!
