That way I won't feel so bad when I drop it in the Caribbean someday while trying to get a shot of the beach from the water or leave it on a beach or drop it off the side of a cliff while taking a photo from a trail.

You did leave out a mongoose eating it while you are swimming etc.

It does take OK pics but the odd thing is that if I have it on beach setting while at the beach, the pics all come out with a light blue tint. I found that the landscape mode works bestfor daylight outdoor photos. I think it is in the white settings on the presets.

I haven't run across a mongoose yet but we did see some rather large iguana.

Toes, the beach you mentioned to the left of Francis might be considered Little Maho. Do you remember the story about Ethel "Grandma" McCully? that was her beach untill her death in the early 1980's.If you read the book "Grandma Raised The Roof" It will mention that beach which she purchased back in the early 50's. Loved the report! Parafins

Thank yo Parafins. I always thought the beach at Maho Camps to be Little Maho and the Beach where the North Shore road leaves the shore to be Maho or Big Maho. I guess this little stretch of sand could be considered part of thr Maho Camp beach as it is just around the rocks from both Francis and Maho

If we are talking about the same little beach, according to Gerald Singer, it doesn't have a formal name. He refers to it as "Unnamed Bay Just to the North of Little Maho Bay"
