Baths Day trip

Post by Bigcheeze »

I know there are many options for hiring a boat and captain to the BVI and the Baths.

Anybody ever done it on their own renting a boat out of Cruz Bay?

We did, but it's been a while so I probably can't offer a lot of useful details. My memory just isn't that good! This would have been in 2001.

I can tell you that we rented a boat from Ocean Runners and we captained it ourselves. It was our first trip to STJ so we were totally unfamiliar with the area and we had never boated on the ocean before, just lakes. Despite that, I don't recall having any problems.

We chose not to do it that way again, however, because it's a long way in a little boat and we found that taking the ferry over was quite a bit easier.

Thanks for your replys...we have a party of 10 going and the other couple are fellow boaters and we like the cost savings of renting our own and Island Hop...although the boat with Cinnomon Bay is a great boat.
