Camera Ideas
I will be looking to purchase a new camera really soon. Looking for 12 MP with 5 X zoom that takes great pictures. My wife is suggesting something that is waterproof also for snorkeling. Does a waterproof camera take away the quality when taking normal pictures?
Ideas are greatly appreciated.
Don't need anything too expensive. I have a habbit of loosing things.

Mike there have been tons of Camera threads here - I will try to dig one up for you. Don't be oversold on the MP wars - lens quality and light sensitivity are also very important. I have a pro photog friend (no - not VickiH
who sold me on this thing (not a waterproof camera though) <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CC ... >Panasonic DMC-LX3S 10.1MP Digital Camera with 2.5x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver)</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=cari ... Let me know what you decide.
I was planning on getting the canon eos rebel. It is a great camera! I already have a good point and shoot with underwater housing. There is something holding me back: when we go on vacations I would have to bring both cameras and I don't want to do that. I guess I could get the underwater housing for my new camera but I am spending more on the camera than I ever had--so the additional cost is overwhelming me.
I wish there were a great camera like the canon rebel that was waterproof. I haven't seen anything like that yet.
My camera takes great pictures but the shutter speed is SO slow by the time it finally allows me to take another picture the subject is gone (especially in the underwater world, sports and kids world, and puppy world). I feel like I have missed a lot of good shots because of it.
Anyway, there are my 2 cents. Let me know what you come up with.

What holds me back is what is mentioned above. Do I want to take two on vacation with me?
For us, the second one would be a tiny point and shot for times I don't want to take the Rebel with me.
Yet I wished several times over the weekend that I would have orded the Rebel by now.
