coconut coast villas
My family and I stayed at Coconut Coast Villas about 5 years ago. We went with 3 teenagers. The villas or really condo's have everything you will need. A complete kitchen, dining and living area. The bedrooms are big enough each with their own bathroom. we rented the two bedroom upstairs unit. we had a balcony and a great view of the bay. you are actually a few feet from the water which is nice. you can hear the water from your unit. the condo's were clean and the staff was very friendly. went out of their way to make sure you felt at home. we really felt like we were a part of the "neighborhood". The fiberglass pool is tiny, but enough to cool you off. I snorkeled the bay, it was pretty good. You can walk right to town which is really nice. very convenient location. When we got there the studio unit next to us was vacant, and the staff let us have the adjoining unit for free for the kids! Knew they would get a kick out of having their "own" place. that was really very nice of them. I think you will enjoy your stay there. they are basic but you will have everything you need. any other questions let me know. I would definitely stay there again.
Hey Cindy
I found a few reviews for you to read - the second one was dated Feb 07 (don't remember the date on the first)
Hope they help

We just stayed at coconut coast villas the second week in october, I would highly recommend staying there, we enjoyed our stay immensely. Immediate surrounding areas are very lush, the pond is not a place you could swim, and there is a path around it that leads to the road going into town, the shoreline near the condos is very rocky, but we thought it would be a great place to snorkel. It is not a spot where you can lay out but there is a small pool that overlooks the bay with lounge chairs on premise. The plant next door is a desalinization plant, although we have heard it was noisy years back, we had no issue whatsoever and we were right next to it. We never had any mosquitoes in our room, but they are certainly out there allover the island. We rented a car, because we like to explore the entire island, but you can walk down the path (during the day only) and it is a short walk to town and lots of restaraunts, it is also a short walk to the marketplace where you will find the best sushi rest. anywhere (happy fish) and a large grocery store (you will have a full kitchen so you can eat in or on your balcony) The view is really nice, we stayed in the orchid suite and we had a great view of turner bay. You can watch the car ferries come and go and at night you can see the cruise ships off in the distance. Nancy and John (the owners) are beyond accomodating as we were checking in last minute. The rooms are really very nice, they are spacious with a large shower and lots of closet space and seating areas, the air conditioner was welcome relief at the end of the day. Again, i would encourage anyone to stay here, it was a great find. This was our third visit to the island this year (we are shooting for a fourth) we have stayed in many places and Coconut coast is definitely a favorite

We booked at Coconut Coast for our fourth trip to St. John. We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay within walking distance to town and it met our needs. It has a small kitchenette, and although we didn't cook, the refrigerator was great for keeping drinks, fruit, water, cheese, etc. The accommodations are dated and could use some "sprucing-up", but the place was clean. Nancy (the owner) and Sara were very helpful with restaurant recommendations (like La Tapa), as well as different ways for walking into town, depending on where you're heading (St. John is hilly, so you will have to climb some). The villas supply chairs, beach towels and coolers, which is nice for trips to the various beaches. Be sure to rent a car for a few days to see all the island has to offer. Although the accommodations are basic, it was a quiet location and the sound of the water lapping the beach outside our room was wonderful. I've already recommended it to friends who are going to St. John and, if we're travelling by ourselves, we'll stay here again.

We returned 10 days ago from a week at Coconut Coast. We were very pleased. Our needs are simple - a bed and a refrigerator. They were far exceeded. The studio had two queen beds - the one we used was very comfortable. There was a ceiling fan and an air conditioner. The porch was amazing. It was very private and had a table with four chairs and a lounge chair. We ate our breakfast there every morning. The is a washer and dryer available. Had I known that, I would have brought fewer clothes. We did rent a jeep. The parking was adequate. There are nine units. The other guests were friendly. People would meet around the pool before supper time and discuss their day. There is some building next door, so there is daytime noise - but we were never around in the daytime. The car ferries go by fairly often, but I did not that to be a nuisance. I don't like hotels and thought we would be lonely at a villa. Coconut Coast filled all our needs and then some.
We stayed at Coconut Coast Villas in Feb. The accomodations are quite basic, but our studio was clean and we were very happy with the location. We listened to the surf all night, were able to walk into town instead of trying to find a parking space, and we attended Elaine Estern's sunset cocktail party at Coconut Coast Studios, which we really enjoyed. There was a local cat to greet us at our door (he wasn't a bother and some guests there fed him). And did I mention that it's nice to be able to walk into town??? You can avoid all the steep hills to getting there by driving past the tennis courts and pond. We actually cooked most breakfasts at the condo and sometimes went to Starfish Market deli to pick up something for other meals. Very handy. We will plan to stay there again.
