We just reserved our car for 15 days in January with Discount Car Rental on STT. I had put in a rate request through their web site and the person who sent me the quote did the caculation based on 12 days not 15. Discount is going to honor the quote. I thought this was great especially considering it is high season and they could rent the vehicle for full rate. They will cover you as far as service goes on STJ, and the web site says the tops are removable. So far we are very pleased with Discount car rental.
Now we just wait till Jan.....

I have to tell you that I have rented from both Discount and Dependable. Dependable had the cheapest rate for next April/May for us for 10 days.
Last time (Oct. 2008) we rented from Discount, we could NOT take the top down. It was bolted down and we couldn't remove it, maybe with some tools, but who has them with you when you're on vacation. We use to own a Jeep, so we know what we're doing.
We rented 3 jeeps from Discount May 2008 and all tops came down.
I just wanted to give you that information.

We were pleased with our experience with Discount this past July. My eyebrows raised a bit when they sent me a quote for a Jeep Liberty with removable top. 
I suppose there might be someone that would be disappointed to find it extremely difficult to remove the top from a Liberty (save for high speed and a tractor trailer across your path). I attributed it to boilerplate quotes or a new employee.
