NYC restaurant recommendations, please!
If you like sake (if not, sorry), this is where we go. It is a Japanese, but not sushi, restaurant/sake bar.

Their sake menu is extensive and they serve dishes (tapas-style) that go well with sake. Although the portions are very small, the food is generally very good – some are simple, some are more creative. Can't talk about their desserts since we've never tried. There might be hits-and-misses on the menu, perhaps depending on your palate. It is rather a sip-and-nibble kind of place. I get pleasantly full after sharing several dishes but my husband usually doesn't. It's pretty well hidden, located in a basement of some office building near Grand Central. I should add that it

To add to Becco's appeal, they offer a great wine list of $25 bottles...we sampled quite a few when we were there and it didn't break the bank. My husband ordered the shrimp appetizer special. He thought he'd get maybe 5 or 6 shrimp, but when the plate arrived, it was a full dozen, for around $12 I think. He loved it. Really a great place to try.
