Two more questions!

Post by mindehankins »

I'm just full of em!
1. We're staying at Cruz Views and renting from Courtesy. Both promise to meet you at the ferry. How do we decide who should actually meet us? Should we ask them? Which one do we ask, since they'd both probably defer to the other.
2. Fastest route from Cruz Views to Francis Bay? Centerline and cut over, or go to Northshore Rd?
Thanks forum!

I feel bad that no one has answered you questions.

I really don't know the answer. When you get there get a map and you will have no problems finding your way around.

Is this your first trip?

No problem, Gina! It's only our second trip, and we don't feel completely comfortable getting around yet. And we don't want to inconvenience Courtesy or Cruz Views, so I thought I'd ask what others do.

Since they are working on the northshore road I would guess it's going to be faster to take Centerline and then go down King's Hill to get to Frances. Locals? Is that right?

Here's my thought on the greeter question -

Since Cruz Views is "in town", I would have the Cruz Views greeter meet you at the ferry and take you and the luggage to Cruz Views and then ask him/her to give you a lift down to Courtesy or at least down the hill and you can walk from there.

Courtesy meets you at the dock - does all the paperwork, etc there and then follow your villa greeter to your villa!

Ask the Cruz Views greeter to meet you at Courtesy or the grocery store. To meet you one place or antoher probably doesn't matter much and the priority is getting the car first.

We have always met both at the dock. Explain to Cruz Views what you are doing. The villa greeter will wait until you get your car paperwork completed.

Fastest might well be Centerline but I prefer to use Northshore anytime I can because it is such a beautiful drive and I feel safer with the traffic than on Centerline. Since I don't know the Northshore Rd. construction progress, my advice might be useless.

I had the same question regarding who meets us (we are also staying at cruz views in Nov.) I emailed the management company and was told they would co-ordinate the car rental and the greeter meeting us-whatever the heck that means. I'm not concerned as it always works out. Oh, let me know what you thought of Cruz Views after you get back. Only one week to go??? The sweet ancitipation!

yes...me too. Cruz Views in November plus Courtesy. I assumed that the villa greeter would wait (they know who we are doing jeep rental with)...and then we would follow them to the condo.

In the past when we have rented from STJ Car Rental, the greeter has waited while we took care of that paperwork...and then we followed them to the villa.

Since we will be on the 5 pm ferry this time, I didnt want to make the greeter wait while we did grocery shopping...figured they would be ready for the end of their work day.

Yes, please post how this works out for you for those of us who follow. And especially how you find Cruz Views.

I LOVE the idea of meeting the Cruz Views greeter at the grocery store! That would be optimal. I emailed Cruz Views and asked them if it would be inconvenient to do so. Thanks for all the help, and we'll be sure to share pics and details about Cruz Views.
Does anyone know if Samuel's Cottages are up Centerline or down Centerline from us?

Hey Minde.....we'll also be at Cruz Views & renting from Courtesy. You'll be leaving the day after we arrive so we might see you in passing. Have a great trip!

minde- make sure you specify which supermarket. there are 2 main supermarket's in cruz bay.

i would take northshore rd to get to francis bay. better scenery. sucks for the driver though :).
