Villa Help

Post by stltimmy »

Looking to tap into the collective wisdom. I have posted several other topics related to our wedding on STJ, but this one I really need help on.

Direct me to a villa. I would like something newer, no more than 2 bedrooms, pool (hot tub not required), view, and preferable not in Coral Bay (but I will certainly look into anything you suggest). Budget is 2-3k.

Also, based on sites that post villas, do you have much negotiating power given the downturn in travel?

Thanks as always!

Tim, good luck with your wedding plans.

My vote goes to Bongo Bongo but it may be a bit over your budget. Are you going in season or out of season?

Forgot to mention this, sorry.

We are going during one of the priciest weeks. 2/14 - 2/21.

Bongo is nice, but out of our range during that timeframe.

I have scoured VRBO. Reading other's reviews of villas, I often hear 'the pictures don't do it justice.'

Of the properties listed on VRBO, the pictures look really dated and may fall into the above category. Plus, I am looking for suggestions based on previous stays. I have googled the heck out of this, and am ready for recommendations straight from the board!

I am also looking for a place to put up our photographer, ideally for around 150 bucks...

Thanks gang,

Tim,

Don't do it.But if you must,we just got from staying at Caribbean Jewels.New 2 Br .Real nice.It is however considered Coral Bay but really to me it's ideal.Turn in just past the smoothie truck.Don't know what winter rates are but they should be at the limit of your budget.
As for your photographer, for that kind of money he will have to stay with you and your bride.
Good Luck

We also loved Perelandra - it's a bit over your budget but worth it. Let me know if you have any specific questions. The 2nd bedroom is downstairs so you could stick your photographer there if it's only for a night or two and then have your privacy the rest of the time.
