Alaska Pictures

Post by c3p1 »

Hi all,
We went to Alaska last year. I am not sure anyone here would be interested but here are some pictures if you are. I have posted these on Alaska boards I visited, but I have gotten so much from folks here about STT and STJ, I thought I would put them up if anyone is thinking of going. I would be happy to answer any questions, as this took a ton of research to pull off.

Here is a slide show to the song Cool change that was fun to make. Jalbumn has limited free space, but fun to work with.

I also have pictures from each day with some captions, closer to a trip report.
Caution, there are a lot of pictures broken up by day and is still only 10th of the pictures I took.

Alaska is on our "when we get older" list as all the oldsters we know who have gone have been carried away with the scenery. The time is nearing!

Your little show is absolutely wonderful! The scenery and action perfectly caught...total contrast to the Virgin Islands, but so beautiful...excellent music choice too.

Thank you for sharing this cooling touch this morning.

Those were great. Thanks for sharing. I loved the bear pics. How cool! Alaska is on our "within the next 2 years" list, so I really appreciate the photos.

That was some great photos. It reminds me of Norway and New Zealand.

I noticed you saw Puffins, we've been chasing them all over Scotland last year, but did't find them.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words.
For anyone who has this on their short list or considering it, do it! It is truly an amazing place that was very different from anything we have done.

Your pictures are just awesome, but of course the nature in Alaska must be awesome. The pictures of the icebergs remind me of Greenland. Nearly the same fantastic colurs. Thank you for sharing, I'm ready to go to Alaska immediately.

Just got back from Alaska last week (wanted to see glaciers before they are all gone). Truly amazing place.

PS "puffy bird. we believe it to be a grouse" in the Denali photos is a ptarmigan. They go all white in the winter, then molt to speckled brown for the summer.
