Kmart = Cheap Rum??

Post by canucknyc »

I read somewhere that Kmart sells Cruzan for very cheap ($3?). Is this true? Or, better yet, is Kmart the cheapest place to get it?

We'll be spending one night in CA before taking the ferry over to St John. Would it be worth our time and money (cabs, etc) to get our supply of rum at the Kmart before heading over? We'll have 13 people in our group... so yeah, a fair amount will be consumed over the week. :wink:

How much would it cost 2 people to cab from the Holiday Inn in CA to the Kmart and back? Just wondering if the cab fares would cancel out any savings on the rum....

Ok, long post on the subject, I know. But it's very important! :lol: Hehehehe And I know I'll be questioned on this by my travel companions!

The 750 used to be about $2.89, yes. Good place for inexpensive liquor.

Maybe you could catch a cab on the way to red hook and then the cost would be the same as red hook alone or close

That is the best idea, but the group has spoken and we will be taking the downtown ferry over. Is there a Kmart near there?

It's within walking distance from Havensight where the cruise ships come in but before the hospital. But you may need a taxi carrying everything back.

Hmm so does that mean we will be in the general area when we go to the territorial court for our marriage license? I mean since we'll be out that way anyway... could go to Kmart before going back across town to the Holiday Inn.

You know, because nothing says "celebrating the marriage license" quite like a trip to Kmart for rum...

For comparison purposes the best price for Cruzan on STJ that I could find was $5.49 for 750 ml, just under $10 for 1.75 l, at Pine Peace Market.

Can someone verify under $3 as a current price in STT?
