Skinny "Eggs"

Post by Cochise86 »

Just back from Skinny Leggs for hamburgers and on the way back to the villa, heard a big thud sound on the driver side of the jeep while in the area between the corner of Salt Pond Road and Love City Market. Told my wife that it sounded like a rock has been thrown at us. We were lucky as my side window was down. Once at the villa, I examined with a flashlight to discover two splahed eggs on the rental jeep. Hopefully, tommorow's rain will wash everything out...

What do you think that's all about, Cochise?

We had something thrown at us from Cap's Place a few years ago. Of course, Cap's is gone now but, it really bothered us because we were just driving by and WHAM! WTF?

It was a peach pit. It hit with a thud and splashy kind of sound. I remember thinking, why?

My take is that it's probably kids or teenagers fooling around(as everywhere in the world). Just keep your windows up when you are driving in the dark at night!

I would concur with Cochise86 that it was probably just "kids or teenagers fooling around."

In my youth I lived on a rural mountain lake that drew a large influx of summer visitors. I forget exactly how the practice started but every Friday evening my friends & I would climb a large boulder around which the 8:15PM Trailways bus would pass on its' route to town. And every Friday evening at 8:15PM we would egg that bus as it rounded the corner.

One night in late August the bus driver stopped that huge bus in the middle of the road. We headed up the hill behind my friends house as fast as we could run. The driver proceeded up my friends' parents' driveway on foot, the bus idling and stopped in the middle of the road blocking traffic.

It didn't take my friends' parents long to figure out who was responsible for the bus driver's complaints though they of course didn't divulge our identities to him and we were read the riot act along with a lecture on highway safety when wandered back down the hill after hearing the bus leave.

Thank you for triggering the memory and I would suspect it was nothing sinister just plain mischief. It has always been an interesting little encampment there on the corner in front of Love City Market. I would suspect a little rum was involved

Can't say I find this kind of behavior amusing or harmless.

Bill I was glad to see your confession so I didn't have to make mine and get yelled at we used rotten apples instead of eggs.

Also guilty as charged. However, the statute has run out.
