good morning from paradise!

Post by shelli0001 »

this place is amazing!!! love it! love driving the jeep on the north shore road! love the north shore beaches! love the chickens & donkeys & cats! (except the 5am rooster alarm)

so far we've been to hawksnest, trunk, jumbie, denis, and cinnamon. its been very windy and choppy, but still lovely. thinking of trying waterlemon today and if its too choppy move to francis.

is it okay to drive the rental jeep to lameshur and/or little lameshur? i don't want to do it if it's dangerous or foolish. what do you guys think? if we get to a hill and are too scared to go down is it possible to turn back?

unless there has been a major washout you should have no problem...have no recent experience there

...hopefully someone who has gone recently will respond.
... no longer a stranger to paradise

The road is mostly paved out there but you do get some rocky, rutted, unpaved sections that need 4 wheel drive. It's well worth the drive. Beautiful beaches. Have a fabulous day! :D

This is the road to Lameshur in 2007. After the rain storms, it's possible it's gotten more rutted, but I never thought it was too bad. :)

Glad you are enjoying your trip! We were at Lameshur a little over a week ago and there is one spot that looks a little treacherous with the rocks, but we made it no problem in our rental. Beautiful beach and good snorkeling!

thanks guys. we'll give it a try. hopefully the waves will calm down a little. we tried to go to waterlemon today but we could tell it was very choppy from the parking lot so we went to francis. francis was just beautiful, no waves at all, we stayed all day.

If it's choppy on the northshore, Lameshur is a good choice. Another one to consider when the northshore is rough is Vie's Beach (she's closed on Sunday and Monday).
