St. Croix for the day?

Post by Anthony »

Are STX ferries running now from STT to STX? Is it feasible to go for just a day? Or is the seaplane the better option?

Anthony - we looked into that last week. The ferries are running and take about an hour and a hlaf and go out of St. Thomas. The seaplane (www.seaborneairlines.com) takes like 20 minutes from St. Thomas.

We decided that it would be alot of time and money spent traveling for the amount of time we would have on island and opted to look into STX for an overnight or possibly a full trip in the future. Our villa rep also said the same thing when we talked to her about going over for the day.

We opted to rent a boat for the day and get them to take us all of the way around STJ stopping at snorkel spots you can't get to by foot or car easily. We wanted to do something other than the normal BVI trip. It was AWESOME to ride all of the way around STJ and see it from the water!

We took a very enjoyable day trip STX-STT-STJ and back. Seaborne booked both the flights (big fun!) and the ferry to STJ. If you get the first and last FLYBOAT you be 'avin de 'ole day on da ilon.
