I just found out today that my sister has been diagnosed with in-operable, stage 4 cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago and now it has returned with a vengeance. The doctor said that it has spread to too many places to count. He said there is no treatment plan, just a plan to keep her comfortable. She is going in for more tests today to see if it has also spread to her brain as she has been having severe headaches.
I am in a state of shock. Ann lives in Iowa and was just here 2 weeks ago for my son's graduation party. The week before that she was on a cruise with her family. Next to my husband, she is my best friend and I can't imagine life without her.
Although she will get other opinions, I'm afraid that prayers might be her only hope now. So if you are a praying person, I ask that you pray for her. She is only 45 and has a 14 year old daughter. She is one of the most wonderful people you could ever meet. Sometimes life is so unfair....
I will definitely keep her and all of you in my prayers. In seeking second opinions, make sure and think about MD Anderson, etc and look for clinical trials! I pray there can be some hope and peace in all of this. I'm so sorry she even has to deal with any of this! Please keep us updated!
I know nothing any of us can say will ease your pain, but please know that prayer is a powerful thing and I will be praying for your sister along with all of your forum friends.
