Tips on the Best Ways to find Cheap Airfare to STT

Post by pmk »

Hi all,

I joined this forum just to share a few photos, and now I blame you all for my fixation on getting back to STJ. :) It's great fun to read so many nice account of good times on the island.

We're not heading back until January so I have plenty of time to look for reasonable airfare. Are there any good tips or services you all recommend?

I did a forum search on "airfare" and found a recommendation to use www.yapta.com to track existing flights for price drops. Are there other services that will alert me when new flights come up?

Are the price guarantees offered by Orbitz real or do you have to jump through lots of hoops.

Any recommentions welcome. Thanks!

The Obitz guarantee will ONLY work if you are very lucky and if you are flying from a major city. In order to get any credit for price drops, another party must book your exact itinerary at the reduced price.

Travelocity will also do airfare alerts for you. Register, enter your departure city, tell them the price at which you'd like to be alerted and you'll get an email if the price drops to that amount.

I use Expedia and Kayak to search for all my travel (I travel with work 20+ flights per year). Then I do directly to the airline website to actually book the tickets. I absolutely HATE trying to make any changes via the 3rd party booking sites.

Good Luck! Have Fun!

For alerts on most flights I use farecompare.com. The only problem is that they do not always list the lowest price for the STL to STT flights. I don't know the reason why. The site works well for many other itineraries.
