ferry to STJ

Post by ripnero »

most people seem to take red hook - but CA is closer to airport - right? does it make a difference or does it just depend on your flight time?

longer time on water (CA) vs. land (RH) and what time you get there.

There are pros and cons to both. CA is a shorter (less expensive) taxi ride from the airport. RH ferry is less expensive. RH has a new, comfortable terminal with a bar and CA requres you to stand on the sidewalk. Some feel that they would rather spend the time on the water rather than in a taxi that is zig zagging across STT. The RH ferries run more frequently than the CA ferries.

It all depends on your schedule and preferences.

Some people seem to have strong preferences, but either one gets you to STJ. It's not a critical decision. We usually take it from Red Hook but if the dispatcher is trying to steer us to CA for one reason or another, we're happy to go with the flow.
