St John Style Cookbook

Post by canucknyc »

I recently received my copy of the St John Style cookbook. Lots of great sound recipes in there!

Our first experiment was the Jumbie Stuffed Chicken - chicken, ham and banana rolls (yeah, that's right, banana) baked in a sauce of OJ, orange peel, sugar and curry. Have to admit we were not expecting much - I mean, banana?! We always enjoy branching out and trying new recipes, so we thought, ok let's give it a shot.

Boy oh boy, it was great! We'll definitely be making this again! Just thought I'd share this with you guys to let you know about this fun cookbook, in case you haven't seen it already. Sorry, no pics... this time.

I bought this cookbook a couple of years ago but never actually used it. Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to pull it out and see what looks good.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

The author is actually a broker for Cruz Bay Realty (nice added touch - a handwritten thank you note from her attached to my copy when it arrived). The link in my original post will take you to the site.

I use this cookbook and enjoy the recipes. Some of the recipes are a little timid on the spicing.

I noticed that, too. I doubled the curry in the recipe I tried.

Anthony - I didn't realize you sold it, too. Sorry... But now that I know, I can order copies for my friends!

We love the Cocolobo Rum Bars and the chicken thighs with rum marinade (I can't remember the name of that recipe - maybe Island Chicken or something like that)). There are a couple of other recipes we have tried, but these are the two we use over and over again.

St. John Style Cookbook

Post by darkanddietwithlime »

I clicked on the link to order a cookbook but our printer died and we are waiting to get the new one......
We are leaving tomorrow to spend 5 days on St. Thomas and then 10 days on St. John. Can someone please tell me where to pick up a cook book while I'm on island?
Thank you.
