Leaving Friday - couple of questions
Leaving Friday - couple of questions
We leave Friday for our 25th anniversary trip!!!
We want to go to Caneel on Monday night for the seafood buffet. The first reservation they take is at 6:00. What time does the sun set this time of year?
We want to go to Miss Lucy's for brunch on Sunday. How long is the drive from Fish Bay to Miss Lucy's? I know we need to get there around 10:00 to get a table outside.
Thanks!
Jamie

Enjoy your trip! If I am recalling correctly, the sun sets around 6:30.
We used to stay out in Fish Bay and the drive to Miss Lucy's (if you take Centerline Road) is about 40 minutes. Longer, if you take the scenic North Shore road.
Be sure to bring some bug spray. The 'skeeters will probably be in full force by next week.

From your e-mail it looks like you'll be at Caneel on Monday the 18th...

Also I'd leave for Miss Lucy's around 9:00 am at the latest just to give yourself enough time. Earlier couldn't hurt though.
As for bug spray, I recommend Bens.

Yep - last week sunsets were between 6:30-6:45pm and were beautiful, even with some(!) rain and clouds last week. You should be right on target with a reservation at 6pm or close to that.
Have a GREAT trip! And I'll second the bug spray advice. With all the rain last week, the skeeters will likely still be out in force. A couple in our group were nearly eaten alive by end of our stay.
Apparently I wasn't very tasty to them though - thank goodness!
