Why I love the Caravan Gallery in Mongoose Jnctn

Post by Gromit »

Ok - so by now everyone here knows of my HM MIL. See December, 2008 trip report.

Anyway, a year or so ago we brought her back a pair of super cute OM symbol earrings that we bought for her at Caravan Gallery.

Shocker of all shockers she actually LIKED something we bought her. Seriously, every time we've seen her since she is wearing these earrings. LOVES them.

Anyway, on a recent visit she confessed that she lost one of the earrings and asked if we could see if they STILL had the SAME earrings when we go back in June.

OK -- yeah RIGHT. If you haven't been to Caravan Gallery you really should stop by. They've got such a great selection of really unique and artsy stuff and I never fail to find something unique there that is not only a good value but I inevitably get the question we all love to get from friends and co-workers, "OMG those are so cute WHERE did you get those?"

But their stock changes and they aren't the kind of place that you see the same old tired stuff. I'm not sure where or how they buy their stock (and I don't care cause it all rocks) but I never would expect them to have the same stuff forever and ever.

Anyway, I went to their web site and flipped through all the great photos of jewelry: http://www.caravangallery.com/ Of course I couldn't find the exact earrings...

So I decided to e-mail them and describe the earrings to someone thru cyber space -- holding out hope that someone there would know what I was talking about.

Sure enough I received a lovely and prompt reply to my request with a photo they took of several of the earrings that they had in stock that resembled my description.

Now these are NOT expensive earrings -- $24 in fact -- but these folks went ABOVE AND BEYOND and FOUND another pair of the earrings in the store!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY Caravan!!

They are packaging and shipping them as I type to go directly to the MIL for Mothers Day-- Score 1 for Gromit! Score 1 for Caravan!

Anyway, I just think that it's a great little store and I always make it a point to stop in and see what they have and always end up spending $$$ there.

They are the perfect spot to find something super cute for the BFF you left at home. Really fun earrings, rings, bracelets etc.

So if you haven't checked them out you should.

A huge shout out to Caravan Gallery from me!!!

totally agree with you on this. Charlie bought me something there that I was on the fence about and gave it to me for Christmas. Once I had the necklace I really wanted the bracelet! I emailed them with the description and it was in the mail the same day!

We also bought my Father in Law a larimar tie tack there that he loves! Says he's going to be buried with it :)

Will be stopping in there for sure at the end of the month!

After looking at their website I have to say I'm not sure if I've ever stopped in; but for sure I will now! Have to say that Mongoose Junction sometimes confuses me with the layout  Always good to have a recommendation from someone, and it sounds like they're really customer oriented. Your MIL should be very pleased with you!

Caravan is always first on our list on shopping day. That's were I got my STJ hook bracelet and many gifts and things for the girls. I had the same experience with a SIL that lost one earring she loved. I described it to them and they knew exactly what I was talking about and I was able to get her a new pair.

Very friendly staff and great service.

We loved Caravan and stopped there 3 times in one week. They have such a great selection of jewelry and something in every price range. Can't wait to get back there! I'm so glad they went above and beyond to find the exact earrings you needed :)

Couldn't agree more. I buy jewelry for my mom on every trip (she's a wonderful puppy-sitter) and it's always come from Caravan. She loves everything I bring her, and has twice now wanted a matching piece of something else I've purchased. All I've had to do is call. I'm pretty sure they're part of the reason she keeps dog sitting for me. :)

I'm so glad to see that so many of you have had great experiences with them too!

Mongoose Junction can seem like a bit of a labyrinth at times but if you ask someone where Caravan is they'll tell you. It's upstairs in a niche all to themselves.

FYI while the stuff of the web site is cute it really does not do justice to the amazing selection of yummy stuff they have in the store. Their web site is just the tip of the iceberg -- so to speak.

I e-mailed the MIL yesteday and told her she had a surprise on the way and she was thrilled!

Gotta say I love them too. Bought the cutest little wind chime for my 21 yr old daughter. Little flat stones that hung down all around with words on each stone like, Hope, Dream, Peace, Live, Breath, etc. She loved it. I wish I would have gotten one for myself too.
