I just talked to Rachel

Post by Xislandgirl »

I wanted to see if she needed anything before I come down and she let me know that her beloved friend, Mr. G passed away last week. If you have ever riden with her, you may have heard about him or had the pleasure of sharing her van with him.

Here is the link to his obituary, he was a great man that lived a great life on STT.

We've never met him but heard about him from Rachel. I'm sorry to hear that he passed away.

Rachel picked me up last night at the airport and told me the news - I cried as she told me - she was a wonderful friend to a wonderful man.

Rachel spoke of him so fondly last year when we rode with her. She told us several funny stories of her times with him. I know that she will miss him so much!

That's so sad. I felt like I "knew" him through her, as she spoke so fondly, kindly & gently about him. Thanks for sharing this as we will be seeing her soon.

I felt like I knew Mr G thru Rachels stories. Mr G was one lucky guy to have Rachel as a friend and care giver.

I talked with Rachel today. She was very upbeat as usual. She told me that Mr. G passed away at home in his own bed and Rachel was able to be there holding his hand. It might not be very long before God brings some other person across her path for her to help.
What a saint!
