Pip - Billy D a weasel? I disagree - he was flattered by the NBA chance, but decided (a day too late for it to be clean I'll admit) that he couldn't go back on the word he'd given to the players and parents of the UF kids.

Cal better win - and in a hurry - coaches are on a short leash at UK. Personally, if there's a weasel in this discussion, Calipari gets my vote - see the vacated Final Four appearance at UMass. And someof the players he could get in at Memphis won't be as easy to get into school at UK unless he/they are willing to bend the rules. And his close association with "World Wide Wes" (notorious AAU coach/prospect "adviser") would make me nervous if I was a 'Cats fan.

UF has missed on some top prospects because Billy D. will not play those games, and if he stays at UF for 20 more years (I hope!) and they never get to another Final Four (hope not!) I'll be proud of the way he runs the program.

Not to mention the two back to back titles, which is exactly two more than I ever thought I'd live to see.

Not bad for a football school, eh?

I will say this - with Billy, Cal, Pearl at UT, the SEC east should be a dogfight.

The difference is Coach C won't have to recruit those marginally academic players at UK. He will be able to go after those who have been going to Duke, UNC, Kansas, Connecticut, and other such schools. Players which Coach G either did not go after or did not get and players Coach Smith strangely quit even recruiting after about 5 years.
